Frances was born February 24, 1926 in Cedar Rapids, the daughter of Josef and Frantiska (Kubovec) Habota. She graduated from McKinley High School in 1944. She married Vernon A. Dubishar on April 26, 1949 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Cedar Rapids. She was a bookkeeper for Cedar Rapids Credit Bureau and retired from Armstrong’s in the Marking Room. Fran and Vernon farmed for many years in the Amana area. She enjoyed going out to eat, canning, gardening, bowling, playing cards, raising chickens and ducks, cooking, baking kolaches, reading, wordfind puzzles, embroidery, attending Clover Ridge Church potlucks and church bazaars. Fran enjoyed the time spent with family by attending their activities and the surrounding local events. Babi was always ready to spoil the grandkids with M&Ms or a cold pop, and will be deeply missed. She was active in a few clubs and local organizations, including Farm and City Women, CSA and a 75 year member of WFLA Lodge 400.
